I have been teaching actively, both in private and group settings, since 2010. As a 2019-2020 Minnesota Public Radio "Class Notes" teaching artist, I have performed dozens of interactive performances at elementary schools across Minnesota. A seven year veteran of the Mile of Music education team and a 2019 Carnegie Hall Ensemble Connect Audience Engagement Intensive fellow, which seeks to break down the distinction between festival artist and festival goer by encouraging all attendees of Appleton's Mile of Music summer festival to get involved in the music making process.
Through my work with Sprig of That, Slipstream, Porky's Groove Machine, and Lawrence University, I have presented and performed at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Drake University, St. Cloud State University, Interlochen Arts Academy, the Wisconsin Music Educator's Association, University Wisconsin-Oshkosh, the Appleton, WI public schools, and public elementary schools across Minnesota.
For me, teaching music is all about inspiring a love for the process. I work with my students to set goals that they will both be able to reach and that they will enjoy getting to. I am currently available for private and group guitar, songwriting, and composition lessons for students of all levels and ages, so click the contact button on the left to get in touch!
